Let's kick off the new year with lots of positivity and support of our peers, teachers, and ourselves! Even the smallest act of kindness can go a long way, and we know that statement has been said a million times, but that doesn't make it any less true!

This month, our ADL lessons centered around accepting others. The 7th and 8th graders learned about the Diversity Iceberg (read the blog located on the "7th & 8th Grade Group" page for more information), which is a diagram depicting the difference between a person's purely physical appearance and the important components of their identity.

During our latest directed study meetings with the 7th and 8th grades, we created Identity Sculptures. Using Chenille Stems, commonly known as pipe cleaners, students made miniature representations of three components of their identities.
