World Kindness Day
Kindness is a fundamental part of the human condition which bridges the divides of race, religion, politics, gender, and zip codes. It can be a way to brighten someone's day, spread positivity, and unify the community. To recognize the importance of kindness in our everyday lives, World Kindness Day was created to highlight good deeds that focus on the positive power and the common thread of kindness which binds us all.
This year, despite implications from COVID-19, Peer Team is still hoping to bring the school community together for World Kindness Day. We would love for you all to join us in coming together to continue to build a kinder community that promotes positivity among individuals and Mount Greylock as a whole.
The Mount Greylock Peer Team has come up with a few initiatives to involve students in World Kindness Day. These initiatives are a combination of online and in school. Despite the hybrid model, we encourage both in-person and remote students to dress in yellow because it displays hope, happiness, and positivity for the day. If you are in school on Friday, 11/13, you will notice QR codes displayed around the school which you are welcome to scan at any point during the day. You will be brought to a site created by Peer Team with a random act of kindness for you to complete if you so choose. If you are a remote student on Friday, we ask that you take some time to offer compliments or kind gestures towards your peers and/or teachers. Ultimately, we are hoping that each member of our community finds a way to spread kindness, in ways big or small, that celebrate the great impact that kindness has.
